REM Real Estate Marketing (“REM”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a specialist property marketing agency based in Cork, Ireland. We operate the website at realestatemarketing.ie (the “Website”).
For personal data collected through the Website, REM is the data controller.

This policy explains what personal data we collect through the Website, why we use it, who may receive it, how long we keep it, and the rights available to you under the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), the Data Protection Act 2018 and applicable Irish electronic-communications law.
It applies to Website visitors and people who contact REM through the Website, by email or by telephone. A separate notice or contract may apply where you become a client, supplier, employee or job applicant.
When you submit a project enquiry or contact us, we may collect:
your name;
company or organisation;
email address and telephone number, if supplied;
project or development name;
project location;
stage of the project;
project requirements and description;
the services in which you are interested; and
the content of your messages and our correspondence with you.
Please do not include special-category personal data, financial information, passwords or other highly sensitive or confidential information in a Website form.
Our systems and service providers may collect limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the Website, including:
IP address;
browser and device type;
operating system;
requested pages and files;
date, time and referring page;
diagnostic, security and error-log information; and
your cookie or consent preferences.
If optional analytics or advertising technologies are introduced, they will be described in our cookie information and will not be activated before consent where consent is required.
| Purpose | Personal data used | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| To receive, assess and respond to a project enquiry | Contact details, company and project information, correspondence | Taking steps at your request before entering a contract; and our legitimate interest in responding to genuine business enquiries |
| To communicate with clients, prospective clients, suppliers and professional contacts | Contact details and correspondence | Performance of a contract or pre-contract steps; and our legitimate interest in managing professional relationships |
| To operate, maintain, troubleshoot and secure the Website | Technical, usage, diagnostic and security data | Our legitimate interests in providing a reliable, secure Website and preventing misuse |
| To prevent spam and automated abuse | Technical data and interaction signals | Our legitimate interest in protecting the Website and its forms |
| To meet tax, accounting, regulatory and legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims | Relevant contact, transaction and correspondence records | Compliance with legal obligations; and our legitimate interests in protecting our legal rights |
| To send marketing communications that you have requested or that we may otherwise lawfully send | Name, organisation, email address and communication preferences | Consent where required; otherwise our legitimate interests, subject to applicable direct-marketing rules and your right to object |
| To remember cookie choices and use optional analytics or advertising technologies | Cookie identifiers, consent choices and technical data | Strict necessity for consent records; consent for non-essential technologies |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether our interests are proportionate and whether your rights and interests override them.
You do not have to provide personal data to browse most of the Website. The name, email and project-description fields are required to submit a project enquiry. If you do not provide them, we will not be able to receive or respond to that enquiry.
Information submitted through the project-enquiry form is transmitted to REM and may be retained in REM’s email and business systems. We use it to assess the enquiry, respond to you and decide whether to discuss or provide services.
Submitting an enquiry does not create a client relationship or require either party to enter a contract. If an engagement begins, relevant information may then be processed under the applicable proposal, contract and client records.
Cookies are small files or identifiers placed on or read from a device. Some are necessary for a Website to work; others require consent.
The Website may use the following categories:
| Category | Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary and security | Deliver pages, balance traffic, protect forms, prevent fraud or abuse, and remember privacy choices | Used only where necessary to provide a requested service or communication; otherwise consent will be obtained |
| Preferences | Remember settings selected by a visitor | Consent, unless the setting is necessary to provide a feature expressly requested by the visitor |
| Analytics | Understand aggregate Website use and improve performance | Used only after consent |
| Advertising or social-media tracking | Measure campaigns, personalise advertising or connect visits with third-party platforms | Used only after consent |
The current Website includes a first-party cookie named lwpcngStatus, which records whether a visitor accepted or rejected the cookie notice. Its current configured duration is up to 12 months.
The Website also uses or may use:
Google reCAPTCHA on contact forms to identify spam and automated abuse. Google may receive technical and interaction data such as IP address, device/browser information and form-interaction signals. reCAPTCHA may use cookies or similar technologies. Its use is subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms.
Google Fonts to display Website typography. When fonts are requested directly from Google, Google may receive technical request information such as the requesting IP address, browser information and requested font file. REM should preferably self-host these fonts where practicable.
WordPress, Elementor and caching/security technologies needed to display, administer, protect and optimise the Website. Login cookies are intended for authorised Website administrators rather than ordinary visitors.
At the date of this policy, the REM Elementor package does not itself add a Google Analytics tag, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag or comparable behavioural-advertising tracker. Any such technology added separately must be listed in the Website’s cookie controls and remain disabled until consent where required.
You can accept, reject or change non-essential cookie choices through Cookie Settings on the Website. You may also delete cookies in your browser. Blocking strictly necessary technologies may prevent parts of the Website from working correctly.
We may disclose personal data, only where necessary, to:
Website hosting, maintenance, security, caching and backup providers;
email, communications and document-storage providers;
anti-spam and form-security providers, including Google reCAPTCHA;
professional advisers such as accountants, insurers, solicitors and IT advisers;
public authorities, regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights; and
a purchaser, investor or adviser in connection with a genuine reorganisation, merger or sale of all or part of our business, subject to appropriate confidentiality safeguards.
Service providers acting on our behalf may process personal data only for agreed purposes and under appropriate contractual and security obligations.
We do not sell personal data.
We aim to use providers located in Ireland or the European Economic Area (“EEA”) where reasonably practicable. Some technology providers may process data outside the EEA.
Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we will use a lawful transfer mechanism where required, such as an adequacy decision, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, and supplementary safeguards appropriate to the transfer. You may contact us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements. Our intended retention periods are:
project enquiries that do not become client engagements: up to 24 months after the last substantive contact;
client and project records: for the engagement and generally up to seven years afterwards, unless a longer or shorter period is required in the circumstances;
Website security and diagnostic logs: ordinarily up to 90 days, unless needed to investigate an incident;
cookie and consent records: for the period shown in the cookie information or until the record is replaced or no longer needed; and
backup copies: until overwritten through the normal backup cycle.
We may retain limited information for longer where required by law or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. REM should confirm these periods against its operational systems before publishing this policy.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data from accidental or unlawful loss, alteration, disclosure or access. These measures may include access controls, updates, backups, anti-spam controls and secure communications.
No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please use the Website forms only for the information requested and do not send highly sensitive information through them.
Subject to applicable conditions and exemptions, you may have the right to:
ask whether we process your personal data and obtain a copy;
have inaccurate data corrected and incomplete data completed;
ask us to erase personal data;
ask us to restrict processing;
object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing;
receive certain data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have it transmitted to another controller;
withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal; and
complain to a supervisory authority.
To exercise a right, email gavin@realestatemarketing.ie. We may need information to verify your identity and understand your request. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
REM does not use Website data to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Anti-spam technology may automatically flag or block suspected automated submissions. You may contact us directly if a genuine enquiry appears not to have been received.
The Website is intended for businesses and adults seeking property-marketing services. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly request personal data from children through it.
The Website may link to client projects, social-media services, video platforms or other third-party websites. Those organisations determine how they process personal data on their own services. Their privacy notices apply when you visit them.
Please contact REM first so that we can try to resolve your concern.
You also have the right to raise a concern with the Irish Data Protection Commission:
Online: dataprotection.ie
Email: info@dataprotection.ie
Post: Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963, Ireland
We may update this policy when our services, technologies or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this page with its effective date. Material changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
